Harmony between Colonial and Orientalist

“Natural brightness, white and ivory of the interiors and delicate colours of the furnishings create an atmosphere of peace and refinement in a villa sited in the Lombard countryside.”

The living room, soul of the house, hosts a collection of Indian and Oriental art pieces and is divided into three lounges, each one gleaming of its precise identity. Niches were designed specifically to lodge art objects. Clever details, such as the fireplace taken from an Indian design, further embellishes the house.

The large living space with its huge windows has enable the creation of a mezzanine that houses over 7,000 books and can be reached via a mechanized staircase that extends diagonally and disappears completely inside the slab’s gauge. The balcony is supported by pillars, marking the spaces of the living room.
